このたび国土交通省 第3回不動産業アワード（地域活性化部門）優秀賞を受賞しました！

私たちは「不動産＝空き家の売買」という枠を超えて、
地域の可能性の“種”を見つけ、育て、発信する――そんな活動を地道に重ねてきました。
その結果として、「街を編集する不動産」のあり方が評価されたことを、
とても嬉しく思っています。

Tobichi Shotengai — A Living Laboratory for Creative Placemaking in Rural Japan
We are thrilled to announce that our project, Tobichi Shotengai, has been awarded the Excellence Award in the Regional Revitalization category at the 3rd Real Estate Industry Awards by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.

Tobichi Shotengai (meaning “scattered shopping street”) began in 2019 in Tatsuno Town, a small rural town in central Japan.
It is not a traditional shopping street, but rather a conceptual framework and community initiative that connects scattered vacant properties, underutilized spaces, and passionate local people to reimagine what a “main street” can be in the age of depopulation.
Through this work, we aim to go beyond real estate transactions.
We identify hidden local potential, nurture grassroots entrepreneurship, and foster community identity through creative use of space.
STOCK SCHOOL – Growing Local Changemakers
To further share our approach, we host an annual learning program called STOCK SCHOOL, now in its third year.
This program invites people active in community building (primarily in Nagano Prefecture) to learn directly from our experience —
not to replicate our model, but to reinterpret and remix it in ways that make sense for their own local contexts.

Our mission is to offer ideas, tools, and inspiration — not a template.
The 2025 cohort is now accepting applications until June 26, but we also welcome international researchers, educators, and fieldwork inquiries throughout the year.
If you’re looking for a compelling case study in participatory placemaking, rural innovation, or alternative real estate approaches, Tatsuno might be your next field site.
We would love to collaborate, host site visits, or co-design learning exchanges with universities, NGOs, or place-based practitioners.
